How To Be An Alaskan Fisherman

Corey Arnold shares his incredible journey through the trials and tribulations of becoming an Alaskan fisherman. Popularized by the discovery channel show, The Deadliest Catch, Alaskan king crab fishing is one of the most dangerous professions in the world. I, like many others, thought that becoming a crab fisherman simply meant signing a life contract and getting on the Bering Sea during crab season, oh how wrong I was. The 'glamour' of making such large sums of money in such a short time has to be earned and not given. The full story is a short read with many incredible pictures, and can be found Here. Definately worth gaining an insight into such a foreign adventure.

Hacker War on Scientology continues...

Its getting interesting. The 10th of Feb should be a day to remember.

The forgotten book

I need to start reading something a little mindblowing. Sure, these university textbooks have some interesting facts, but when it comes down to it, they suck!
No plot, no characters, no revenge -- just words.
I guess reading is becoming a lost hobby. The ADHD generation is engulfing me, and I want my long, plot driven, pointless stories back!
I'm off to do something about this....

Scientology and me...

I wonder if anything will happen? I hope so.

I Miss Sleep

Lousy school is making it impossible for me to have a normal schedule. I sleep at odd hours and stay awake through the night. Without feeling like the day was productive, I cannot sleep. Productivity doesn't mean completing chores or doing the remedial tasks necessary for modern living, oh no. It means I must arse around, doing enough of the things I want to before the day is over. Read the news, eat something I crave, videogames, internet surfing (big one), and shit like that. I know there are many like me. A group of night owls wanting to feel accomplished.
Maybe they haven't proceeded with all the responsibilities of adulthood, but the day certainly felt like it was lived rather then being a process.
It's not easy to live like this, and it cannot be switched off, which comes in handy during exams.
My best work has come out of immense pressure, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Except for one thing.....I miss sleeping.

Who doesn't think James Brown is cool?

100 Greatest Christian Chat Room Quotes

This isn't bashing religion. Just some of the idiots who are religious. ;)
Read Here

Here's a few examples

"There are a lot of things I have concluded to be wrong, without studying them in-depth. Evolution is one of them. The fact that I don't know that much about it does not bother me in the least."

"A woman wants to abort a rape child? She should have thought of that before she walked down that dark alley without a male prescence, not to mention she should have thought before putting on revealing attire."

"To say the Bible was written by men and may contain inaccuracies completely contradicts the word of the Bible."

Jackson Pollock Mod Art

Visit this website to create your very own Jackson Pollock look-alike art.

“Who is Jackson Pollock?”

"Jackson Pollock created so-called ‘drip paintings’. A very cool and surreal way to display feelings and emotions. He began painting with his (often very large) canvases on the floor, and developed what was called his “drip” (or his preferred term, “pour”) technique."

Time'sa changin'

Its an odd day. School has officially begun and the gears are turning. The cyclical nature of life this semester begins and will soon be routine....then it'll be tiring. These days its all so routine that I can't find much to do that's refreshing. Same types of classes, same type of people, same small talk, same types of friends, same useless activity, same phone calls, same duration and same topics. Food has usually been my only salvation. Even so, I don't get the time to make anything new or try much that I haven't already.
This is where my blog has come in. Just something to do that is a little different. Share my abstract thoughts, though in the form of poorly constructed sentences. Post the things that make the time go by a little easier. Maybe one day I'll have some pride in this thing. If I could raise one eyebrow, just once, through all of the awful syntax and grammar, I'll be satisfied.
The irony is I've waited my whole life to feel like I'm part of something significant, something monumental. I knew it was unlikely. Maybe I was waiting for change. It seems like anything interesting had happened in the past, long before my time began. The love generation and the rebellious war protesting type have transformed into modern day Starbucks drinking, bush hating/voting, tweed and khaki wearing yuppies. All that is fine but the times feel empty.
Then it hit me. I realized the other day that things aren't so different. There's still plenty of corruption within society and the of the world. Assassinations aren't so old school after all and war is present, whether it be against terrorism or drugs or lack of pay for writing an episode of lost and not getting the online royalty benefits.
Science and technology are reshaping the way we live and think. Cloning, Genetic modification etc... Maybe soon the changes will fill the void I've had for so long. Until then, I'll just get my jollies out of the little things in life.

Robot Chicken Star Wars

Why I skipped school to watch sesame street

As a kid, I loved sesame street. It was the equivalent of crack to a junkie. In England, they only showed the bugger at 12:30pm, so the only way to get my fix was to skip school. I would pull off all sorts of elaborate bullshit to watch the ambiguously gay big bird and pals. It wasn't so bad, I was getting an education of sorts, right?
I remember mastering the art of creating fake vomit. It was impossible to convince my mum that I was sick. One minute she was mummy, the next, fucking Columbo. But puke....well theres no debating its presence. I show her some nice pasta sauce based fake puke and the investigation was off. So after all these years I took a little look back at sesame street and other then Oscar the grouch, I realized the only other thing I liked were the trippy animated shorts about the alphabet and numbers. Bert and Ernie were predictable, big bird was stoned and the count and cookie monster just got repetitive. I hear the modern cookie monster tells kids to eat healthy and minimize the cookie intake...fucking sellout. So here's a little clip illustrating the psychedelic nature of the alphabet. Those illustrators were some cool-ass hippies.

Kids are growing up fast

Yes, I know. Pretty shocking. Leads me to a few thoughts.... You don't expect kids that age to act like that but in some way its fascinating. May end up in some art gallery. Who was taking this photo and why!?
Guess life's too short for some.
Take it from this kid.

Walken Mask

Ever needed a large mask of Christopher Walken? Me neither.

Bill Gates last day

Bill Gates is no actor.....
Here is the video link for his last day at Microsoft, featuring more celeb cameos then a season of Entourage. I guess its cool that he can poke fun of himself like that. Well that's what billions of dollars can do. Great for self esteem!

Picture Day

Here are some pictures...
Why? Because they are cool and can take you away from that thing you have to do for an extra minute. Let's face it, if procrastination was boring, no one would be doing it.

PETA is full of shit

Don't have a pet. Its a crime according to PETA. After reading this crazy shit you may look at things differently. Turns out an "official report from People for The Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), shows that the animal rights group put to death more than 97 percent of the dogs, cats, and other pets it took in for adoption in 2006."
"The organization took in 3,061 "companion animals" in 2006, of which it killed 2,981."So how many animals were saved and found adoptive homes? The answer is a pathetic 12.
This is just one of the many problems with this fucked up animal rights group. I'm no pet owner but please... just make up your own mind when it comes to this kinda shit. I'm off to eat some Veal.

In the Beginning.....
