Popularized by the discovery channel show, The Deadliest Catch, Alaskan king crab fishing is one of the most dangerous professions in the world. I, like many others, thought that becoming a crab fisherman simply meant signing a life contract and getting on the Bering Sea during crab season, oh how wrong I was. There's more than just crab fishing here in Alaska. Salmon and halibut is a big thing in my town.
